James Ronald Knight, 82, of Ellijay, Georgia passed away on October 11th, 2024.

He was born on May 7, 1942, in Gilmer County, Georgia. The son of the late Cecil Clay Knight and Mildred Joyce McKinnish Knight. He is preceded in death by his brother Donald Knight, and grandson Landon Bramlett.

Ronald was a graduate of Gilmer High School class of 1960, and a college graduate of both Reinhardt College and the University of Georgia. He was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church of Ellijay. Ronald was raised in the car business from an early age, with his father opening up C.C. Knight Motors in the 1940s.  He continued the legacy by owning his own dealerships throughout this life and was presently employed at Bill Holt Chevrolet as a car salesman.

Ronald is survived by his wife, Nanette Knight of Ellijay, along with his daughters: Rhonda Henderson, Ellijay, Andrea (Lewis) Bramlett Ellijay, Keshia (Chris) Crump, Ellijay, sister Nancy (Hubert) Parker, Ellijay, Grandchildren, Kali (Frank) Wood, Colt (Jessica) Henderson, Riana Henderson, Lance (Ashley) Bramlett, Lucas (Sarah) Bramlett, Landree Crump, and Coy Crump, great-grandchildren, Noah, Hunter, Madilyn, Caroline, and Catherine also survive.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, October 14th, 2024 at 4:00 pm from the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Brother Doug Hall and Brother Robert Gudger officiating.  Pianist will be Janet Davenport and soloist Trish Kirkland.  A private family internment will follow at the Mountaintown Baptist Church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Lewis Bramlett, Chris Crump, Lance Bramlett, Lucas Bramlett, Colt Henderson, and Frank Wood.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, October 14th from 1:00 pm until the service hour at 4:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations may be made to the Landon Bramlett Memorial Scholarship or the West-Warren Memorial Scholarship through the Gilmer Education Foundation in care of Zach Henderson at United Community Bank.
