Mr. James Carey "Slugger" Strawbridge, 66 of Ellijay, passed away on Tuesday, June 14 ^th , 2022, at his residence.

Mr. Strawbridge was born May 29 ^th , 1956, in Dallas, Texas to the late Orman "Straw" Strawbridge and Betty Jean Christian. He was a graduate of Gilmer High School class of 1974 and a deputy for the Gilmer County Sherriff's Office, and proudly served our country in the United States Marines. Mr. Strawbridge was also a member of Harvest Missionary Church. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his step-father, Richard Faricelli.

Survivors include his wife, Beth Strawbridge; step-mother, Sharon Strawbridge Dooley of Ellijay; one son, Cody Strawbridge of Indiana; two daughters, Megan (Dylan) O'Neal of Iowa and Haley Strawbridge (Zach Hamilton) of Ellijay; step-sons, Patrick Evans of Texas and Matthew (Stacey) Callahan of Oregon; sisters, Debra (David) Dickenson of Marietta and Pam (Kelly) Robertson of Texas; as well as his grandchildren, Madison, Kayde, Cayce, Carson, Wyatt, Narayan, and Carolee.

Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, June 19 ^th , 2022 at The Harvest Missionary Chruch with Rev. Glen Arnold officiating. Interment will follow in the Yukon Cemetery. Pallbearers include Steve Totherow, Andy Morgan, James Worley, Eric Maddox, Terry Nealey, Norman Chastain, Carroll Chastain, and Tommy Totherow. Honorary Pallbearers include David Totherow, Richard Farist, Pat Shelton, and Bryson Totherow.

The family will receive friends Saturday, June 18 ^th from 12:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the Yukon Cemetery in Mr. Strawbridge's honor. However, the family respectfully asks that no food be brought to the funeral home.
