Mr. James M. Watkins, age 74 of Ellijay, died Monday, April 20, 2026 at his home.

Mr. Watkins was born September 2,1952 in Fannin County the son of the late Morris and Ellaree Miller Watkins. He was a retired Carpenter having worked in the construction industry and was a US Army veteran. He loved watching football and watching and playing golf, also he attended Oak Hill Independent Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Cheyenne Watkins, and a brother Larry Watkins.

Survivors include: wife, Juanita Cloer Watkins, step daughter, Miriam (Adam) James, siblings, Cindy Pless, Connie Reed, Dwayne, David, Mark and Matthew Watkins along with grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

At Mr. Watkins request, he was cremated, and no formal services will be held.
