Mr. James Howard Worley, age 83 of Ellijay, Ga., passed away on Thursday, November 9th, 2023.

Mr. Worley was born in Gilmer County on May 22nd, 1940 to the late William Taft Worley and the late Mattie Pritchett Worley. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Hiram Don Worley and Leroy Worley; one sister, Janie Worley Sanford; and two nephews, Scotty Sanford and Wesley Patterson. Mr. Worley loved cats, watching his westerns on TV, riding his bicycle, and listening to Dr. Charles Stanley.

Survivors include his two sisters, Mary Ruth Hall and Eva Mae McArthur; five nephews, Eddy Patterson, Tony Worley, Robby Brown, Michael Worley, and Alan Worley; six nieces, Becky Patterson, Beth, Vickie, Melissa, Diana, and Rhonda Worley; a special thanks to his caretaker, Becky Brown.

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, November 12th, 2023 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Rev. Josh Chatham officiating. Interment will follow in Ellijay City Cemetery. Family members will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 11th from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Flowers will be accepted; however, the family requests no food be brought to the funeral home.
