Mrs. Jeanette Faye Sisson Hill, age 82, of Ellijay, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, October 17, 2026.

Mrs. Hill was born on July 4, 1944, in Gilmer County, to the late Charlie Sisson and Stella Willis Sisson. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

Mrs. Hill devoted much of her life to caring for others, a quality that was reflected in both her work and the way she lived. She worked for Dr. Robert Bond for more than 20 years, while also serving in the nursery at the Methodist Church. Even after her time at Dr. Bond’s office came to an end, she continued her work in the church nursery. Caring for others was more than a job to Mrs. Hill; it was a meaningful part of who she was. Whether through her work, her church, or her family, she spent much of her life looking after those around her. Her life was a reflection of kindness, compassion, and a servant’s heart.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hill was preceded in death by her son, Michael Grizzle; grandchild, Carly; brothers, J.D. Sisson, C.S. Sisson, Arzinas Sisson, James Sisson, Wayne Sisson, Alvin Sisson, and Calvin Sisson; and sister, Lillie Mae Bennett.

Survivors include her husband, Johnny Thomas Hill, of Ellijay; children, Johnny (Lynn) Grizzle, Keith (Michelle) Grizzle, and Leroy “JR” (Sheila) Grizzle, all of Ellijay, and Barbara (Nathan) Wood, of Commerce; sister, Mary Alice Jones, of Ellijay; 13 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Several other relatives and loved ones also survive.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 24, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, with Rev. Keith Raper officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Jordan Grizzle, Matthew Posey, John Wood, Aaron Wood, Jason Benton, and Kaiden Lawrence.

The family will receive friends on Friday, October 23, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home, and again on Saturday, October 24, from 10:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
