Mr. Jerry Glen Mayfield, Jr., age 64 of Ellijay, GA, passed away on Monday, June 16th, 2025 at the Piedmont Mountainside Hospital in Jasper, GA.

Mr. Mayfield was born on November 6th, 1960 in Ellijay, GA to the late Jerry E. Mayfield and the late Joann Hughes Mayfield. He loved farming, being outdoors, and was a skilled home builder and stonemason. In addition to his parents, Mr. Mayfield is preceded in death by his grandson, Walker Timothy Mayfield, and nephews, Timothy Gray and Stephen Boyd.

He is survived by his two sons and daughters-in-law, Havern (Brittany) Mayfield of Morganton, GA and Heath (Kelsey) Mayfield of Blue Ridge, GA; two daughters and sons-in-law, Alicia (Rusty) Cox of Blairsville, GA and Crystal (Julian) Cook of Andrews, N.C.; four sisters, Sue Teague, Marie Morgan, Connie Clark, and Lisa West all of Ellijay, GA; ten grandchildren, Chetley Cox, Aubrie Cox, Cambrie Cox, Tyler Cook, Torrance Cook, Felicity Cook, Stetson Mayfield, Grayson Mayfield, Callie Mayfield, and Myrick Mayfield also survive.

Funeral Services to honor the life of Mr. Mayfield will be held on Thursday, June 19th, 2025 at 12:00 p.m., noon, from the Chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Rev. Curtis Easley officiating. The Colwell Baptist Church Choir will perform the vocals. Graveside Interment will follow in the Sunlight Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. The following gentlemen will be serving as pall bearers: Sam Baugh, Matthew Teems, Ken Gray, Jimmy Knight, Charles Greer, and Roger Grindstaff.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 19th, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour of 12:00 p.m.

The family will be accepting flowers or in lieu of these, donations may be made to the Bernhardt Funeral Home @ 163 River Street, Ellijay, GA to help alleviate final expenses.
