Mrs. Jewell Charles Franklin, age 84 of Cumming, passed away on Monday, February 12th, 2024.

Jewell was born on May 28th, 1939 in Gilmer County to the late Hershel Charles and the late Minnie Langley Charles. She was a housewife and a member of the Rock Creek Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Franklin is preceded in death by her loving husband, Harold Franklin, and siblings, Virginia Smith, Georgia Hyde, Kermit Charles, Claudia Brown, Elmo Charles, William Charles, and twin brother, Buell Charles.

Survivors include: nephews, nieces, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 17th, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Hyde officiating. Interment will follow in the Rock Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.  Mr. and Mrs. Ronald and Linda Hyde will sing. The following gentlemen will be serving as pallbearers: Scott Crocker, Patrick Charles, Darrell Hyde, Dink Lanning, Ronald Hyde, Bryan Hiener, James Lanning, and Owen Crocker.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 17th, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour of 2:00 p.m.

The family will be accepting flowers; however, they respectfully ask that no food be brought to the funeral home.
