James Earl Hadder "Jim" a resident of Ellijay " Big Creek community" born March 28th, 1946 passed away peacefully on June 29th, 2024. With his loving wife Sherry Hadder by his side as well as other family members. Jim was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and uncle. Jim is preceded in death by His Mother, Mattie Elizabeth Bird, Ben Bird, Step Father, Sister, Jody Ann Hadder. He survived by his wife of 27 years Sherry Hadder of Ellijay, Son, Rod Hadder and wife, Vivienne of Dallas TX; Granddaughter, Mena Hadder of Dallas TX; Brother John Hadder and wife, Pat of Pensacola Fl. Jim Had several Nephews and Nieces.
Jim, was a veteran of the Army and served one tour of duty in Vietnam. Jim lived a wonderful life and loved the mountains of North Georgia. Jim was heavily involved in the H.A.M. radio community, call sign KE4ZX and loved being part of the local and State disaster response teams. Jim was a great mentor to many. Jim enjoyed a long career as a cameraman for CNN. Jim went all over the world covering assignments from El Salvador to Somalia, and filming soldiers on the Berlin Wall during the Cold War.
Later in life the one thing he was most excited about was his granddaughter Mena, he loved her so much and always talked about her. He wished he could of spent more time with her, but cherished the moments he had with her.
There will be a celebration of life on Saturday, July 27th at 10:00am. Located at The Barn on 702 Scrougetown Rd. Ellijay, GA 30536.
