Mrs. Joan Mattie Kay Poole Clement, age 82 of Ellijay, passed away on Sunday, August 20th, 2023 at her home after a long illness.

Mrs. Clement was born on March 3rd, 1941 in Rome, Georgia to the late Robert Poole and the late Florence Bagwell Poole. She was a member of the Cartecay Baptist Church and a homemaker. Mrs. Clement loved to travel and visit many countries with her husband, her favorite was Germany. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Clement is preceded in death by two brothers, Robert "Buddy" Poole and James "Lefty" Poole, and one sister, Francis Eubanks.

Survivors include her loving husband of 65 years, James L. Clement Sr., two sons and daughters-in-law, James L. Jr. (Roxanne) Clement and Victor L. (Sherry) Clement, and 4 grandchildren, Ashley Clement, Patrick (Sarah) Clement, Nicholas, and Nicole Bishop also survive.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 9th, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Dr. Chad Hall officiating.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 9th, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. until the service hour of 12:00 p.m at the funeral home.
