Mrs. JoAnn Doster Hays, age 89, died Tuesday, November 29, 2022.

Born in Eatonton, GA, she was the daughter of the late Luther Harold Doster and Cleo Ola Evans Doster. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Jasper Newton Hays. Brothers: Lamar Doster, Billy Doster, James Doster, and Charles Doster. Sisters: Frances Bell, Nadine Hallman, and Nina Phinny. And Son in Law: R. Gregory Geletka.

Mrs. Hays spent most of her career as an office manager and administrative assistant in the real estate development field. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who took great pride in her family. She loved spending quality time with her children and grandchildren, often cooking up a classic southern meal of biscuits and grits for them. She had an incredibly sharp memory and wit, always ready with a great story or hilarious one-liner. She was also an avid traveler, taking advantage of her husband's employment with Eastern Airlines and as a member of the XYZ Travel Club to travel the country and the world.

Mrs. Hays is survived by her children: Cynthia Hays Geletka of Ponte Vedra, FL, and Jeffrey Alan Hays of Mount Dora, FL; grandchildren: Christopher Geletka and his wife Anisah, Jillian Geletka Barron and her husband Andrew, Daniella Hays, and Christian Hays. And many loving nieces and nephews.

Memorial Services will be held Saturday, January 14, 2023, at 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM from the chapel of the Bernhardt Funeral Home in Ellijay, GA. Entombment will follow at 2:30 PM at White Chapel Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Duluth, GA.
