With heavy hearts and deep love, we share the passing of John Walter Innes, 73, of Ellijay, Georgia, on April 19, 2026. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by the family he cherished so deeply.

He was born on December 5, 1952, in Buffalo, New York, to Jack and Eileen Innes.

John married his childhood friend, Janette Clark, on July 12, 1975. Together they shared 50 wonderful years of marriage and raised a loving family.

John was known for his enthusiasm, joy, and deep love of life and people. He had a profound appreciation for God's creation and found happiness in the simple beauty of the world around him. A faithful servant of Jehovah God for over 40 years, his faith guided his life and remained one of his greatest priorities, along with his devotion to his family. He instilled that faith in his children, a gift that will remain with them always.

He enjoyed many hobbies , especially canoeing, fishing, bowling, riding his motorcycle, and indulging in his favorite sweets. John was a father figure to many and truly a stranger to none—his kindness, warmth, and welcoming spirit left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

Memorial services will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 4260 Yukon Road, Ellijay, GA 30536, on May 16 at 2:00 p.m.

He is survived by his wife, Janette; his children, Jessica (Anthony), John (Loraine), Joanna (Steve), and Julia (Kevin); his grandchildren, Isabella and Braelynn; his brother, Bob (Darlene); his sister, Patricia (David); and his nephews, Dan, Josh, and Ian.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
