Mr. Joshua Adam Carswell, age 40 of Ellijay, passed away on Tuesday, October 10th, 2023 at his residence.

Mr. Carswell was born on June 15th, 1983 in Houston, Texas to Victor Carswell and Lisa Michelle McKinlay. He was an avid Georgia Fan and enjoyed cooking and photography. He was a gymnastics coach in North Carolina and loved his nieces and nephews and spending time with them.

Survivors include his father, Victor Carswell; mother, Lisa Michelle McKinlay; brother and sister-in-law, Seth (Dana Lee) Carswell; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Taylor Carswell and Taryn (Stephen) Stoner, niece and nephews, Brayden Hester, Beckett Martin, and Weylin Carswell also survive.

To honor Mr. Carswell's wishes, he will be cremated and a Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, November 5th, 2023 at 4:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Minister Butch Jones officiating.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 5th, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Flowers will be accepted. However, the family respectfully asks that no food be brought to the funeral home in memory of Mr. Joshua Carswell.
