Joyce Ballard Reynolds, beloved mother, accomplished professional, and spirited adventurer, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2025, at the age of 85.

Born on February 24, 1940, in Chicago, Illinois, Joyce moved to Tampa, Florida as a young girl where her lifelong love of the outdoors began. She carried that adventurous spirit with her throughout her life—whether paddling through the rivers in her kayak or riding horseback with grace and confidence.

A proud graduate of Wesleyan College, Joyce went on to establish and run her own successful benefits and investment management business. Tirelessly dedicated to her work, she was a fierce advocate for her clients, earning their trust and admiration through her integrity, wisdom, and unwavering support.

Joyce called Macon, Georgia home for over four decades, forming deep ties and friendships in the community. Later in life, she relocated to Ellijay, Georgia, to be closer to her daughter, embracing mountain life with the same zest and independence she brought to every chapter of her journey.

She is survived by her son, Rush Peace Jr. (Kaci), and her daughter, Catherine Peace Ashford (Elton).

A funeral service celebrating Joyce's life will be held at Cartecay United Methodist Church on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at 2:00 PM. Reception to follow in the reception hall. All who knew and loved her are welcome to attend.

Joyce had a lifelong affection for animals and took great joy in the companionship of her beloved pets. In honor of her memory, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Homeward Bound Pet Rescue HBPR.org in lieu of flowers.

Joyce's spirit will live on in the rivers she paddled, the trails she rode, and the hearts of all who were lucky enough to know her.
