Ms. Judith Mae Reese Godowns, age 84 of Ellijay, passed away Wednesday, November 23rd, 2022 at AccentCare Hospice Center in Cumming.

Ms. Godowns was born on February 8th, 1938 in Effingham, Illinois to the late Gerald Robert Reese and Glenda Juanita Goodbrake Reese. She worked as a caterer. Ms. Godowns, also, served as a Sargent in the United States Army. She is preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her son, Robert Mark Godowns; four daughters, Glenda Godowns, Teri (Travis) Lavender, Savanna (Max) Thomas, and Lisa Evans; four grandchildren, Brandon (Sarah) Ausband, Nathan Lavender, Jessica Brown, and Amanda Webb; and five great grandchildren, Grayson Ausband, Jace Ausband, Amileaya McMorran, Elowyn Brown, and Fiona Brown also survive.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 3rd at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with pastor Chad Kelly officiating. Interment will follow in Yukon Cemetery. Pallbearers serving will be Brandon Ausband, Grayson Ausband, Travis Lavender, and Max Thomas and honorary pallbearer Robert Mark Godowns.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, December 3rd from 10:00 AM until the funeral hour.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Lung Association in memory of Ms. Judith Godowns.
