Mrs. June Gaye Weaver Waddell, age 84 of Ellijay, passed away on Thursday, December 21st, 2023 at her residence.

Mrs. Waddell was born on February 10th, 1939 in Gilmer County to the late Bernard Budge Weaver and the late Brader Chastain Weaver. She was a Service Representative for 36 years for AT&T and a member of the Buford Highway Baptist Church. June loved to sew, travel, and take care of people. She was a wonderful cook and loved to feed people. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Waddell is preceded in death by her sister, Donna Sue Aldea.

Survivors include her loving husband, Roy L. Waddell; son and daughter-in-law, Bradley R. (Ester) Waddell; daughter and son-in-law, Vickie L. (Don) Walker; brother, Larry Weaver; brother and sister-in-law Louie and Dianne Weaver; sister, Lisa Weaver Kukla; sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and Joe Finn and Debbie and Dave Wheelus, three granddaughters, Jasmine Waddell, Rose Gartner, and Rachel Walker also survive.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 23rd, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. from the Chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Chaplin Scott Smith and Bro. John Pettit officiating. The interment will follow in the Oak Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery. The gentlemen serving as pallbearers will include: Don Walker, Brad Waddell, Scott Waddell, Dennis Waddell, Joshua Aaron, and Allen Patterson.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, December 22nd, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Flowers will be accepted in memory of Mrs. June Waddell.
