Mrs. Karen Sue Payne, age 62 of Ellijay, passed away on Tuesday, January 17 ^th , 2023 at the Piedmont Mountainside Hospital of Jasper.

Karen was born on March 3 ^rd , 1960 in Gilmer County to Robert Dewey Evans and Alva Thornton Evans. She was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church and was employed by McDonald's. Mrs. Payne is preceded in death by her father and one sister, Pamela Evans.

She is survived by her mother, Alva Thornton Evans; two sons, Dustin Payne and Darius Payne; one brother, Gary Evans, and 7 grandchildren also survive.

To honor Mrs. Payne's wishes, she will be cremated.
