Mr. Kenneth Arnold Chastain, age 81 of Cherry Log, GA, passed away on Thursday, February 20th, 2025 at the Northside Cherokee Hospital.

Mr. Chastain was born on January 3rd, 1944 in Hayesville, N.C. to the late John Oscar "J.O." Chastain and the late Katie (Bradley) Chastain. Kenneth was a devoted deacon of Cherry Log Baptist Church since the 1970s, leaving behind a legacy of unwavering faith and love. His heart for the Lord was evident in every aspect of his life, and his love for his family was unmatched. Together with his wife, Noleeta, they opened their hearts and home to over 126 foster children, offering compassion and guidance to all who crossed their path. Kenneth found joy in tending to his garden and working outside. He will be missed but is no longer in pain.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Chastain is preceded in death by his siblings, Jimmy Chastain, O.D. Chastain, C.J. Chastain, Sara Carringer, Floyd Chastain, Jack Chastain, Bill Chastain, Bobby Chastain, John Chastain, Edith Chastain, Betty Chastain, Mae Harris, and Kathey Omega Rice.

Mr. Chastain is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mrs. Noleeta Corbin Chastain of Cherry Log, GA; sons and daughters-in-law, J.W. (Rhesa) Chastain of Cherry Log, GA, Keith Chastain of Cherry Log, GA, and Jacob (Valerie) Chastain of Ellijay, GA; daughters and sons-in-laws, Samantha (Noah) Burnett of Woodstock, GA, Kimberly "Kim" (Greg) Stepp of Ball Ground, GA, and Amanda Chastain of Cherry Log, GA; sister, Rosie Jones of Copperhill, TN; nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral Services to honor the life of Mr. Chastain will be held on Sunday, February 23rd, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. from the Cherry Log Baptist Church with Rev. Edwin Land, Rev. Doyle Davis, and Rev. Jamie Kerr officiating. The Kerr Family will be singing. Graveside Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The following gentlemen will be serving as Pall Bearers: William Chastain, Carroll Chastain, Jeff Chastain, James Parks, Shawn Long, and Tim Land. The following gentlemen will be serving as Honorary Pall Bearers: Weldon Thomas, Steve Towe, Kenneth Harris, Joshua Bryant, Alex Walker, Weston Walker, Willie Boyd, and Justin Burney. Following the service, a meal will be prepared in the Cherry Log Baptist Church Fellowship Hall for family and friends.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 22nd, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Bernhardt Funeral Home.
