Mr. Larry Glenn Herring, age 82 of Ellijay, GA, passed away on Thursday, August 7th, 2025.

Larry was born on August 31st, 1942 in Wilmington, North Carolina to the late Livingston Franklin Herring and Eunice Waddell Herring. He was known for always having a smile on his face and a great sense of humor that lifted the spirits of those around him. Larry loved playing pickleball and brought the same energy and joy to the court as he did to everyday life. He worked as a general contractor for Nokia, where he was respected and appreciated for his hard work and positive attitude. He will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. In addition to his parents, Larry is preceded in death by his brother, Carroll Bryan Herring, and sister, Yvonne L. Larkins.

He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Sara Herring of Ellijay, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Erik and Tracy Herring of Canton, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Debi and Frank Klemens of Ellijay, GA; sister-in-law, Judith Herring; 6 grandchildren, Todd Klemens, Rhiannon Lundquist, Kevin Klemens, Andrue Herring, Cannon Herring, and Savannah Herring; 12 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great granddaughter also survives.

To honor Mr. Herring a Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday, August 31st, 2025 from the Gilmer Recreation Center next to the Pickle Ball Court at 3:00 PM. All family, friend and pickle ball players are welcome to come.
