Rev. Laymon L. Langford, age 75 of Ellijay, GA, passed away on Thursday, September 12th, 2024 at his home.

Rev. Langford was born on January 24th, 1949 in Middlesboro, Kentucky to the late Luther Langford and the late Mildred (Carroll) Langford. He proudly served our nation in the United States Army and was a member of the Springs of Life Church in Chatsworth, GA.

In addition to his parents, Laymon is preceded in death by one brother, Wayne Langford, and brothers-in-law, Arlin Webb, Sr. and Richard Strecker.

Laymon is survived by his loving wife, Linda (Akins) Langford; daughter and son-in-law, Kayla (Chris) Long; son and daughter-in-law, Michael (Shelby) Langford; sister, Patricia Webb; one brother, Charles Bowman; sisters-in-law, Beverly Akins (Edward) Chastain and Delores Akins Strecker; 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, September 16th, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Rev. Junior Maney officiating. Music will be provided by the Springs of Life Choir. Graveside Interment will follow in the Yukon Cemetery. Rev. Langford's grandsons will serve as his pallbearers.

The family will receive friends on Monday, September 16th, 2024 from 12:00 until the service hour of 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
