On Thursday, June 27, 2024, Leola Hunnicutt Beavers went home to be with the Lord. She was 84 years old. Leola was born on April 9, 1940, to Ernest Floyd Hunnicutt and Pauline Baliles Hunnicutt of Dial, Georgia.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Irvin Harold Beavers, also her father and Mother, Ernest Floyd Hunnicutt of Ellijay, GA, and Pauline Wallace of Newnan.

Leola was a devoted Christian and was a member of the Open Arms Sunday School Class at her beloved Macedonia Baptist Church. Pallbearers will include; Bo White, Jess Argo, Derek Cathy, Michael Nix, Cody Grant, Justin Beavers, Tyler Braun, and Robert Sparshott. The deacons of the church will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Leola retired from the K-Mart store in Newnan in 2002 after 22 years of service.

The funeral service is at 2 pm Monday, July 1, 2024, at Macedonia Baptist Church in Newnan, GA with Rev. Matthew Myers & Dr. John Riley officiating. Mrs. Beavers will lie in state at the church from 1:00 until the service hour. Interment will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park immediately following the service. The visitation is Sunday evening between 5-8 at McKoon Funeral Home.

She is survived by her children, son, Raymond & Deborah Beavers of Ellijay; daughters Lynn & Ricky Yeager of Newnan, Marsha & Jimmy Morris of Newnan; grandchildren, Justin Beavers & Terry VanBlaricum, April & Cody Grant, Robert Sparshott & Veronica Kincaid, Kecia Sharp, Jana White, Kristin Morris & Derek Cathey; great-grandchildren, Dalton Beavers, Destiny Beavers, Desiree Beavers, Madison Sparshott, Jada Sparshott, Tyler Braun, Abigail Braun, Annabella White, Sophia Sharp; and her beloved fur baby, Ellie.
