Mrs. Linda Lousie Crooke Talbot, age 83 of Ellijay, GA, passed away on Saturday, June 28th, 2025 at the Piedmont Mountainside Hospital in Jasper.

Mrs. Talbot was born on September 25, 1941, in Gilmer County to the late Rev. James Crooke and Vesta Key Crooke. She was a dedicated dental hygienist with Talbot Dental Associates. A woman of strong faith, she was an active member of Calvary Way Baptist Church in Ellijay. Mrs. Talbot was known for her compassion, work ethic, and devotion to both her family and community. Her life was a testament to love, service, and faith, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, Farrell and Shirley Crooke; her sister and brother-in-law, Margaret "Evelyn" and James Hensley; her brother-in-law, James "Jimmy" Jones; two grandchildren, Bobby Long and Walter Mann, father-in-law and mother-in-law, George Murray Talbot, Sr. and Era Bae Stevens, and her nephew, Tim Jones.

Linda is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Dr. George "Buddy" Talbot of Ellijay, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Dr. James "Jimmy" and Beth Talbot of Ellijay, GA; five daughters and sons-in-laws, Jo Lynn and Bobby Long of Ellijay, GA, Jan Mann of Mineral Bluff, GA, Cheri and Kevin Mitchell of Fletcher, N.C., Lisa and Matty Dee of Fletcher, N.C., and Susie and Buddy Cole of Fletcher, N.C., sister, Inez Jones of Ellijay, GA, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews also survive.

Funeral Services to honor the life of Mrs. Talbot will be held on Monday, June 30th, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with her son, Dr. Jimmy Talbot and Rev. Josh Jones officiating. Mr. Herman and Mrs. Rhonda Davis, along with her sister, Mrs. Inez Jones will sing. A private inurnment will be held in the Yukon Cemetery at a later date. The following gentlemen will be serving as honorary pallbearers: Nathan Talbot, Murray Long, Kortland Long, Mason Mann, Joseph Mann, Terry Hensley, and Tinsley Jones.

The family will receive friends on Monday, June 30th, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. until the service hour of 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family will be accepting food; however, they respectfully ask that no flowers be brought to the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Gilmer Education Foundation Bobby Lee Long, Jr. Scholarship Fund at United Community Bank in Ellijay.
