Lois Fay Burton, age 71 of the Stover Creek Community in Ellijay, passed away on Sunday, February 19 ^th, 2023 at her residence with loved ones by her side.

Lois was born March 20 ^th , 1951 in Athol, Kentucky to the late Matt Watkins Jr. and Verneeda Hensley. She was employed by the Waffle House and worked as a waitress. While she worked at Waffle House, she was an inspiration to many young lives. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and memaw. She is preceded in death by her parents, and her two brothers, James Watkins and Richard Watkins.

Survivors include her husband, Arnold Burton; three sons, Alan Ray Burton, Daniel Clay Burton, and Shaun Dewayne Burton all of Ellijay; daughter; Maeleah Guest; brother, Kenneth David Watkins; 13 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren also survive.

In correspondence to Mrs. Burton's wishes, she will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
