Mrs. Lois Jean Davis, age 83 of Ellijay, passed away on Wednesday, November 16th, 2022.

Mrs. Davis was born on November 14th, 1939, the eldest child of the late Lee and Mea Mealer Reece. She was a graduate of Gilmer High School's Class of 1956. Lois worked at First Baptist Church as a child-care worker for many years. In addition to this, she worked at Blue Ridge Carpet in Ellijay for 25 years. She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church and also attended First Baptist Church of Ellijay for many years. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Davis is preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Davis; two sisters, Vernice Reece and Frances Tarpley; and two sisters-in-law, Gladys Adams, and Earline Eller.

Survivors include her husband, Charles Hyde; son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Tammy Davis; grandchildren, Rachel and Tanner Davis, Leah and Drake Crump, Brandon Davis; great grandchild, Barrett Paul Davis; brothers-in-laws, Tommy Tarpley and Richard Eller; nieces, Lisa Helton, Rebecca Miolen, and Linda Hagood; and nephews, Joey Smith, Patrick Smith, and Danny Smith also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 21st, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. from Ebenezer Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Watkins, Rev. Russell Hood, and Rev. Charles Holbert officiating. Music will be conducted by the Ebenezer Baptist Church choir. Interment will follow in the Ebenezer Baptist Church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joey Smith, Patrick Smith, Danny Smith, John Helton, Drake Crump, and Tanner Davis.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 20th, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
