Mrs. Louise Newton Ballew, age 88 of Ellijay, GA, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 16th, 2025 at her residence.

Louise was born on June 23rd, 1936 in Ellijay, GA to the late James Edward "Ed" Newton and Nannie Mae Dempsey Newton. She dedicated her life to raising her 10 kids and was a member of the Flat Branch Baptist Church in Ellijay, GA. She deeply loved her children and her grandchildren.

Mrs. Ballew is preceded in death by her loving husband, L.L. Ballew, Jr.; brothers, Lewis Newton, John "Johnny" Newton, Sr., and Harold Newton; grandson, Audie Buffington; granddaughter, Amanda Heaton; great-granddaughter, Coley Louise Davis, and daughter-in-law's, Anita Kendall and Wendy Ballew.

Louise is survived by her children, Frankie (Bobby) Crump of Ellijay, GA, Edward (Sharon) Kendall of Ellijay, GA, Hoyt Kendall of Ellijay, GA, Shirleen (Curtis) Davis of Chatsworth, GA, Keith Ballew of Ellijay, GA, Sue (James) Stanley of Ellijay, GA, Elaine Ballew of Ellijay, GA, Phillip (Angie) Ballew of Ellijay, GA, Louann (Neal) Burgess of Ellijay, GA, and Eric Ballew of Ellijay, GA; 31 grandkids, 44 great-grandkids, and 3 great-great grandkids; sister and brother-in-law, Linda (Johnny) Wright of Ellijay, GA; sister-in-law, Reba Newton of Dalton, GA, and several nieces and nephews also survive.

A Funeral Service to honor the life of Mrs. Louise Ballew will be held on Monday, May 19th, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with her nephew, Rev. John Newton officiating. Graveside Interment will follow in the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery where she will be buried beside her parents. The following gentlemen will be serving as pall bearers: Josh Stover, Matt Ballew, Mason Ballew, Cody Ballew, Tyler Ballew, Tim Davis, and Chris Burgess.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 18th, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home and again on Monday, May 19th, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour of 2:00 p.m.

Food and Flowers will be accepted in memory of Mrs. Louise Newton Ballew.

The precious Lord has taken her hand and led her home.
