Mrs. Louise Cornelia Stewart, age 89 of Ellijay, passed away on Monday, March 25th, 2024 at Pruitt Nursing Home in Blue Ridge.

Mrs. Stewart was born on February 19th, 1935, in Naylor, GA, to the late John Wilson and Fannie Mae Smith Wilson. She retired from Bell South Communications and was a member of the Howell Mill Baptist Church in Atlanta. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Stewart is preceded in death by her husband, Lacy Stewart; daughter, Andrea Burgess Shoemaker, and brother, Phillip Wilson.

Survivors include her sons, Hugh Burgess of Ellijay and Daniel Burgess of Ellijay; sister-in-law, Annette Wilson; 10 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 30th at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Banks officiating. Interment will follow in Yukon Cemetery. Pallbearers serving will be Andrew Burgess, Dakota Burgess, Chris Shoemaker, Derik Mullinax, Austin Burgess, and Isaac Mullinax.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, March 30th from 10:00 AM until the service hour.

Flowers will be accepted in memory of Mrs. Louise Stewart.
