Macel "Jane" Buck, age 83, passed away Wednesday, September 14th, at her home in Ellijay.

Jane lived in the Cartecay Community and was of the Protestant faith. She was born in Ireland, WV to the late Harlie Lowther and Avis McCray Lowther, and  grew up in Webster Springs WV. She retired from Letchworth Village / State of New York, Thiells, NY.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Walton T. Buck Sr.; Sisters, Almonta Markwood and Mary Weaver; and Brothers, Richard ,Philip, Henry and Leslie Lowther.

She is survived by daughter; Romy (Sam) Strickland of Griffin GA, Walton  T."Wally" (Milyn) Buck, Jr. of Peru, NY.; sisters; Margie Gillespie of Fayettville, PA and Betty Capps of Laytonsville, Maryland; brothers; Obrey Lowther of Columbia Station, Ohio and Harlie "Ralph" (Diane) Lowther of Brandenberg, Kentucky; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and very special nieces Connie Weaver Smith and Haley Smith.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 21 st , 2022, at 11:00 a.m. from the Chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Dr. David Drake officiating. A Graveside Service will follow from the West View Cemetery in Atlanta, GA., at 2:00 p.m.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 20 th , 2022, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Bernhardt Funeral Home.

Flowers will be accepted; however, the family has requested that no food be brought to the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Homestead Hospice in Blairsville, GA.

Bernhardt Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
