Mrs. Margie Dover Evans, age 92, of Ellijay, passed from this life into her eternal life with the Lord on September 4, 2024.

Margie was born June 21, 1932, in Gilmer County, Georgia. She was the daughter of Cicero Dover and Cora Crawford Dover. She was a graduate of Gilmer High School, and was a retired employee for the Gilmer County Board of Education. Margie was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and tireless servant of the Lord Jesus her entire life.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, W.T. Evans, Jr., her son, Dan Evans, brothers, Vernon Dover, Estus Dover, Tom Dover, J.G. Dover and sister, Venta Lee Dover.

Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Pat and Debbie Evans, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Donnie Burgess, daughter-in-law, Linda Evans, all of Ellijay; granddaughters, Jessica (James) McLendon, of Hixson, Tennessee; Holly Evans, of Chattanooga, Tennessee and Jennifer (Tim) Vines, of Louisiana. Great grandchildren Elizabeth and Will McLendon, of Hixson, Tennessee; Colby Parris, of Ellijay, and Maggie Parris, of Louisiana also survive.

A private family service was held Saturday, September 7th, at the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery with Bernhardt Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
