Ethelda Marie Wilson Bruce, 88, passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at her home in Ellijay, Georgia.

She was born in Pike County, Alabama on October 24, 1935. She was the daughter of the late Jewel and John A. Wilson.

First and foremost, Marie was a woman of God and loved the Lord. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and homemaker. She was the last surviving of 7 children.

Marie is survived by her husband, Edgar Thomas Bruce of 69 years of Andalusia, Alabama, mother of Robert Thomas (R.T) Bruce his girlfriend and her special angel Inez Jones, Sharon Marie (Sharie) Bruce, Ronald (Ron) Allan Bruce and wife Holly Bruce. Grandmother of Chad Thomas Horvatic Bruce and wife Missy Bruce, Shena Marie Anderson, and husband Joshua Earl Anderson.

Great Grandmother to MaKenzie Marie Reed, Nathan Jordan Anderson, Iszak Thomas Horvatic Bruce, Emelyn Daze Bruce, Genavee Harper Bruce, Xander Matthew Horvatic Bruce.

Great-Great Grandmother to Everleigh Marie Cathey and Iris Reed.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, July 10th at 1:00 PM from the Chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Chaplain Terry Stuart officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 10th from 11:00 AM until the service hour.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Special Olympics of Georgia or to any charity of your choosing.
