Mrs. Essie Marie Cochran, age 80 of Cleveland, TN, passed away on Thursday, July 4th, 2024 at the Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Marie was born on August 30th, 1943 in Ducktown, Tennessee to the late Joseph Miller Hembree and the late Nora Mae (Allen) Hembree. She loved to sew, quilt, and spend time with her grandchildren. She was always so friendly and never met a stranger. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cochran is preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.

She is survived by two sons, Joseph (Jessica) Cochran of Blue Ridge, GA, and Evan Cochran of Cherry Log, GA; five daughters, Pearlie Mae (Britt) Chastain of Blue Ridge, GA; Kathy (David) Blankenship of Cleveland, TN; Barbara Osborne of Cleveland, TN; Jo Ann (Alvin) Findley of Ellijay, GA, and Wanda (David) Parker of Dalton, GA; brother, Melvin Hembree of Benton, TN; nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 11th, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Rev. Brad Hyatt officiating. Interment will follow in the Cochran Family Cemetery in Cherry Log, GA.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 10th, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Food and Flowers will be accepted in memory of Mrs. Marie Cochran.
