Mrs. Martha Lucille Clayton Stanley, age 103 of Ellijay, passed away on Tuesday, January 3 ^rd , 2023.

Mrs. Stanley was born on December 17 ^th , 1919 in Gilmer County to the late Arc  "A.H." Clayton and Louise Spriggs Clayton. Mrs. Stanley was a member of the Pisgah Church of Christ and loved spreading the gospel everywhere she went. Mrs. Stanley bought pamphlets with her own money and enjoyed handing them out to people.  She loved being with her grandchildren and singing.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Stanley is preceded in death by her husband, Arvil Stanley; daughter and son-in-law, Betty Jo and Charles Marshall; son and daughter-in-law, Doyle (Joy) Stanley; infant son, Jerald Stanley; son-in-law, Jimmy Hendrex, and grandson, David Ringhoffer.

Mrs. Stanley is survived by her two sons and daughter-in-law, David (Betty) Stanley of Ellijay and Jack Stanley of Ellijay; five daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon (Wally) Colburn of Wetumpka, Alabama; Peggy (Larry) Benedict of Crossville, Tennessee; Judy (John) Dobreanu of Argentina; Frances Hendrex of Ellijay, and Cynthia (John) Ringhoffer of Chatsworth, and numerous grandkids, great grandkids, and great-great grankids, and many nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, January 8 ^th , 2023 at 2:30 p.m. from the Chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Minister Butch Jones officiating. Interment will follow in the Pisgah Church of Christ Cemetery. Pallbearers serving will be her grandkids: Zane Stanley, Clayton Stanley, Kenny Marshall, Danny Marshall, Ronnie Marshall, Jamie Lloyd, and Joey Stanley.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 7 ^th , 2023 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family will be accepting flowers; however, the respectfully ask that no food be brought to the funeral home. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wildwood Health and Rehab Center at 184 Pinhook Rd, Talking Rock, GA 30175.
