Mary Nell Starks Ellis, age 93 of Ellijay, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 20th at the Northside Cherokee Hospital.

Mary was born in Gilmer County on February 17th, 1932, the daughter of the late Walter and Eunice Lattie Starks. She was a graduate of Gilmer High School, and she also worked as an inspector for the Galaxy carpet corporation. She was co-owner of the Village Dress Shop in Ellijay, GA. She was a member of the Mountaintown Baptist Church in Ellijay, GA. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ellis is preceded in death by her husband, Albert "A.G." Ellis.

Survivors include her son, Dean Ellis and son-in-law, Jon Osborne, of Ellijay, GA; sister, Margie Starks Arnold, Marietta; several cousins, nieces, and nephews also survive.

A Private Funeral Service to honor the life of Mary Ellis will be held from the Chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Rev. Layne Arnold officiating. Interment will follow in the Mountaintown Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jon Osborne, Kevin Arnold, Doug Roe, Brad Arnold, Austin, and Phil Jordan.
