Mary Ann Henderson, age 82 of Hiawassee, Georgia, formerly of Ellijay, Georgia passed away on April 11, 2025. Mary Ann was born on February 11, 1943 in Florida to the late Mr. and Mrs. U.L. and Lula Mae Harley. Mary Ann lived there until she met the love of her life, William "Bill" Henderson and they moved to Ellijay to begin their teaching careers and raise their family.

Mary Ann retired from Gilmer County School System, after her career of nearly 30 years teaching elementary school. She loved her students, her family and friends.

Mary Ann had a passion and love for music, playing the piano, along with several other instruments. She enjoyed attending and playing at music events. She loved her church of many years at Flat Branch Baptist Church in Ellijay and she loved the Lord.

Mary Ann is preceded in death by her above-mentioned parents; her beloved son, Billy Henderson Jr.; husband of over sixty years, William Henderson; brother, Danny; niece, Leslie. She leaves behind her son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Pam Henderson; grandchildren, Jonathan, Daniel, Aaron; great-grandchildren, Easton, Blakelee, Haven; a number of extended family and friends. Mary Ann will be deeply missed.

Services will be Sunday, April 27, 2025 at 2:00pm at Flat Branch Baptist Church in Ellijay, Georgia.
