Mrs. Mary Ruth Stamey Roberts, age 92 of Ellijay, passed away on Wednesday, September 14 ^th , 2022 at her residence.

Mrs. Roberts was born on May 31 ^st , 1930 in Union County to the late Lewis Victor Stamey and Mary Selena Louisa Loving Stamey. Mrs. Roberts was employed by Dixie Dime where she worked as a clerk.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Louis Roberts; three brothers, Eston Stamey, Lewis Stamey, and Rudolph Stamey, and two sisters, Bulah Ensley and Elivie Gentry.

Survivors include: two sons, John Roberts of Talkingrock and Charles Roberts of East Ellijay; three grandchildren, Caleb Roberts, Shawn Rutledge, and Heather Rutledge, and one great grandchild, Raylen Cremeen.

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, September 18 ^th , 2022 at 3:00 p.m. from the East Ellijay Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Fields, Rev, Charles Simms, and Pastor Chad Kelly officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Music will be provided by the East Ellijay Church Choir. Pallbearers will include: Billy Arier, Buster Roberts, John Roberts, Steve Fields, Chad Kelly, and Charles Simms.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 17 ^th , 2022 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Flowers will be accepted; however, those desiring may make donations to a charity of their choice.
