Ms. Mary Sue Davis, age 82 of Ellijay, passed away on Monday, December 20, 2021,

Ms. Davis was born on December 15, 1939 in Isabelle, Tennessee to the late John Henry Simmons and Winefred Reece. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Johnny Simmons.

Ms. Davis graduated from Gilmer High School, Class of 1958 and Pickens Area Vocational Technical Institute as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She was employeed at Watkins Memorial Hospital and later for Northwest Home Heath Agency. She was also a caregiver.

Ms. Davis grew up on a farm and said that her favorite memory was going with her mother to milk their Jersey Cow. She was a proud member of the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church and loved the Lord dearly. Her favorite pastime was reading her bible.

Suvivors include her son, Curtis (Brenda) Davis of Ellijay; one daughter, Ann Mulkey of Ellijay; two sisters, Helen Sutton of Elllijay, and Betty Jo (Philip) Perry of Ellijay; two grandchildren, Brady (Becca) Timbs, and Ansley Mulkey; four great grandchildren, Callie, Derrick, Marley, and Dawson.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, December 23, 2021 at 2 PM in the Chapel of the Bernhardt Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Nealey officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery.  Pallbearers include Brady Timbs, Hassell Chastain, Junior Teague, Jerry Teague, Adam Teague, David Teague, and Jerry Farist.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 23, 2021 from 12 PM until 2 PM.

In Lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery Fund (PO Box 1435, Ellijay 30540.)
