Mrs. Maryellen Van Tassell, age 77, of Blue Ridge, GA, passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2026.

Mrs. Van Tassell was born on June 7, 1949, in San Mateo, California, to the late Charles Ryder and Hazel Kelly Ryder. She worked as a secretary in the architectural field and was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Blue Ridge, GA. She enjoyed gardening, spending time outdoors, loving on her dog, and sharing the good news with others.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Van Tassell was preceded in death by her son, William Charles Foster, and her siblings, Pat Ryder, Charles “Chuck” Ryder, and Brian Ryder.

Survivors include her husband, Lewis George Van Tassell; daughters, Julianne Catherine Gant and Michelle Patricia Pradan; stepchildren, Travis Van Tassell, Tisa Van Tassell, and Tonya Czesnowski; brother, James “Jim” Ryder; grandchildren, Nikunj Pradan, Sean Patrick Lawrence, Cheyenne Kelly Gant, Shannon Mariah Gant, Shania Catherine Irene Gant, Korbyn Foster, and Payne Yuknevich; and great-granddaughter, Gracie Suzanne Lawrence.

Memorial services will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Blue Ridge, GA. The date and time of the service will be announced as soon as they are available.
