Michael Eric Lynch, 73 of Ellijay, died peacefully at home on January 7th, 2024.

He was born on May 3rd, 1950 to J.F. Lynch, Jr. and Mary Dunn Lynch and spent most of his youth in Greenville, SC.

He graduated from Furman University in 1976 and Campbell University School of Law in 1982. He worked as an attorney in South Carolina for several years before moving to Georgia and starting a real estate title examination business.

He moved to Ellijay in 2004 and was a member of Ellijay First United Methodist Church. He loved playing his guitar, singing silly songs, telling jokes, and making people laugh.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Janet Copley Lynch; sons, Michael Eric Lynch II, Mark Allen Lynch, and David Patrick Lynch; daughter, Allison Lynch Willis; daughter-in-law, Crystal Lynch; brother, Mark Steven Lynch; many grandchildren; and great-grandchildren also survive.

He is preceded in death by his son, Adam Lynch; and sisters, Karen L. Henry and Sharon L. Christian.

To honor his wishes, Mr. Lynch will be cremated, and a celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 20th at 11:00 AM from the Ellijay First United Methodist Church with Rev. John Brantley officiating.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 20th at the Ellijay First United Methodist Church after the service.
