Mickey William Nelson, age 43, of Ellijay, ga, died on Tuesday, April 1st, 2025, at the WellStar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta.

Mickey was born December 21st, 1981, in Whitfield County, the son of Randy Nelson and Sandra Manley Nelson. He worked as a grading operator and was employed by NJ Wilbanks. He was also a member of the Little Baptist.

He is survived by his wife, Vickey Stokes Nelson; Sons and daughter-in-law, Jake (Courtney) Nelson, Luke Nelson, Brother, Randy (Mary) Nelson, mother-in-law, Donna Wheeler; brother-in-law, Danny Plumley, niece Miah Nelson, and granddaughter Alyssa Nelson.

He was an amazing husband, father, brother, and papaw. If you knew Mickey you knew he never met a stranger and never let a room go quiet! He was always the one that would make everyone laugh and didn't care to say whatever was on his mind!

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 5th, 2025, at 2:00 pm from the Chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home, with Rev. Jamie Kerr officiating. Interment will follow in the Ellijay City Cemetery. Pallbearers: Jake Nelson, Luke Nelson, Randy Nelson, Billy Medlin, Jackie Plumley, and Chandler Clayton.

The family will meet with friends on Friday, April 4th, 2025, from 11:00 am until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.

Flowers and food will be accepted, but the family would prefer donations to be made to the funeral home to help with final expenses.
