Mr. Charles Michael "Mike" Gibbs, age 72 of Ellijay, passed away on Friday, September 15th, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loving family and favorite dog, Ruby.

Mr. Gibbs was born June 12, 1951, and is the son of the late Vernon Gibbs, Sr. and the late
Margaret Catherine Green Humphreys (Hunter Thornton Humphreys). He was the owner and operator of a third-generation family-owned restaurant, he loved spending time with his family and friends, weekends on Lake Blue Ridge, and cheering for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and Atlanta Braves.

Survivors include wife: Halena Withrow Gibbs, Ellijay GA, daughter: Angela Gibbs Reynolds (Chris Reynolds), Braselton, GA, son: Matthew Teague (Whitney Teague), Ellijay GA, daughter: Holli Charlcee Gibbs, Ellijay GA, sister, and brother-in-law: Phyllis Parrott (Tommy Parrott), Ellijay GA, 6 Grandchildren: Christopher Reynolds, Grey Reynolds, Chanse Cheek, Kace Teague, Blakelee Teague, Ensley Teague, along with several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his older brother, Vernon Lee Gibbs, Jr.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, September 20th, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Rev. Josh Moyers officiating. Interment will follow in the Ellijay Church of Christ cemetery. Pallbearers serving will be Matt Teague, Christopher Reynolds, Grey Reynolds, Chanse Cheek, Billy Rowe, David Westmoreland, Gary McVey, James Thomas, and Honorary: Harold Crump.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 19th, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
