Mrs. Nancy Ruth Akins, age 81 of Ellijay, passed away on Monday, July 1st, 2024 at her residence.

Mrs. Akins was born on August 13th, 1942, in Tacoma, Washington, to the late Harold Martin Craig and Ruth L. Whitaker Craig. She worked as a manager at the BP gas station in Ellijay, and she was a member of Harvest Missionary Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Akins is preceded in death by her husband, Tony Akins.

Survivors include her three sons, Tony Akins, Jr. of Ellijay, Scott Akins of Ellijay, and Chet Akins of Gulf Shores, Alabama; daughter, Debra Wilson of Jacksonville, AL; two brothers, Mike Craig of Alaska and Walt Craig of Alaska; two sisters, Donna Hablutzel of California and Martha Bannatyne of Alaska; 18 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 6th at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Fields officiating. Music will be performed by Tony Akins, Jr. Interment will follow in Yukon Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 6th from 10:00 am until the service hour of 2:00 pm at the funeral home.

Flowers and food will be accepted in memory of Mrs. Nancy Akins.
