Mrs. Oveline Jones Larouere, age 83 of Washington, D.C., formally of Ellijay, passed away on Friday, June 30th, 2023 at the Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington, DC.

Mrs. Larouere was born on September 6, 1939 in Gilmer County to the late Dorsey Jones and the late Jewell Mulkey Jones. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Larouere is preceded in death by one son, Christopher Terrell Cumbie, and one sister, Brenda Thurman of Ellijay.

Survivors include her son, James "Ty" Cumbie of Washington, D.C.; grandson, Patrick Martin of Atlanta, GA, and 4 sisters, Carolyn Pankey, Beverly McDaniel, Loujean Bradburn, and Doris Gunn and 2 brothers, Darrell Jones and Jimmy Jones all of Ellijay.

To honor Mrs. Larouere's wishes, she will be cremated and buried in the Yukon Cemetery.
