Mr. Michael Patterson "Pat" West, age 71 of Ellijay, passed away on Monday, October 9th, 2023 at the Piedmont Mountainside Hospital in Jasper.

Mr. West was born on July 26th, 1952 in Michigan to the late Jack West and Lillian Pierce West. Pat spent many years working for the family concrete business where he then became the owner of West Block and Concrete Company. He retired as the owner of West Block after years of service. He was an avid fisherman, loved to garden, mow his grass on his John Deere, and chew on a cigar. Mr. West is preceded in death by his father, Jack West.

Survivors include his loving wife, Lisa West of Ellijay; mother, Lillian West of Ellijay; son and daughter-in-law, Chad (Missy) West of Ellijay; step-son and step-daughter-in-law, Sam (Chquita) Baugh of Ellijay, 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Heather (Josh) Howard of Ellijay and Amber (Justin) Johnson of Chattanooga; stepdaughter, Jessica Hyde; brother, Andy West of Ellijay; sister and brother-in-law, Debbie (Larry) Badger of Calhoun, and 9 grandchildren, Madison (Coey) Watson, Natalie West, Lucy Thurman, Lily Thurman, Silas West, Samantha Baugh, Luke Baugh, Jada Howard, and Lola Howard also survive.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, October 12th, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Rev. Emuel Sanford and Rev. Sam Rickett officiating.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 12th, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour of 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Food will be accepted; however, the family respectfully asks that no flowers be brought to the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Gilmer County Food Pantry at http://gilmerfoodpantry.org/give-to-the-pantry in memory of Mr. Pat West.
