Philip Cox Perry ^II died April 24, 2023 at his home.

He was born April 27, 1933, to the late Ida (Simmons) Perry and Howard Perry. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Beth Bice.

He graduated from Gilmer High in 1950, studied at Southern Poly and Ga Tech, and served in the Air Force 322 ^nd Air Division in Germany.

He was a lifetime member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers, and worked as Director of HVAC at the Atlanta, GA architectural firm of Stevens and Wilkinson.

He maintained his private pilots license for 30 years and was a member of the Civil Air Patrol for 10 years. After 34 years at Stevens and Wilkinson he retired to Ellijay, was a founding member of the Gilmer Food Pantry and worked there for 20 years. He also ran the Mountaintown Firehouse Community Center for many years.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Betty Jo (Simmons) Perry, daughter C. Lynn Perry, daughter and son-in-law Cindy (Perry) and Ed Corn, and grandchildren: Hannah Chambers, Ben (and Sarah Frazier) Corn, and Miles Corn.

A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, May 7th, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 7th, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour of 2:00 p.m.

The family requests that donations be made to the Gilmer County Food Pantry in lieu of flowers. The family also requests no food, but would appreciate a note with a favorite memory of Phil instead.
