Mr. Phillip Eddie Frady, Sr., age 78 of Ellijay, GA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 23rd, 2025 at his residence.
Mr. Frady was born on May 14th, 1947 in Canton, GA to the late Robert Fred Frady and the late Mildred Holloway Frady. Mr. Frady proudly served as a United States Navy Hospital Corpsman attached to the 1st Marine Division, where he displayed extraordinary courage and dedication in caring for his fellow service members. He obtained a Purple Heart, a symbol of the sacrifice he made in service to his country. After his military career, he continued to make a lasting impact as an auto body teacher for 26 years at the Morrow Sr High School. In the classroom, he was more than an instructor — he was a mentor and a role model who deeply cared for his students. Known for his knowledge, patience, and compassion, he had a unique ability to connect with young people and guide them not only in their trade but in life. His students loved and respected him, and his legacy lives on in the many lives he touched with his wisdom, kindness, and unwavering commitment to helping others succeed.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Frady is preceded by his brother, Robert Larry "Bobby" Frady, and sister, Kathy Diane Frady.
Phillip is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Jo Lina Frady of Merced, California; son and daughter-in-law, Phillip Jr. (Pepper) Frady of Douglasville, GA; two daughters, Lorie Frady of Marietta, GA and Lisa Frady of New Zealand; four grandchildren, James Patrick Futch, Peyton Chelsie Futch, Mia Ilonna Kovach, and Juliet Tesla Kovach; one great-grandchild on the way; special friend, Preston Mills, and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral Services to honor the life of Mr. Frady will be held on Saturday, August 30th, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Rev. Ralph Frier officiating. Graveside Interment will follow in the Mt. Pleasant "Buckhorn" Baptist Church Cemetery with military rites by the United States Navy.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 30th, 2025 from 12:00 p.m., noon, until the service hour of 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family will be accepting food and flowers in memory of Mr. Phillip E. Frady, Sr.
