Mrs. Rachel Penland Holt, age 88 of Ellijay, passed away on Thursday, May 5 ^th , 2022 at her residence.

Mrs. Holt was born February 9 ^th , 1934 in Gordon County to the late D.G. "Dock" Penland and Angie Shirley Penland. She was a housewife and a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Holt is preceded in death by her husband, Howard Holt.

Survivors include her son, Wayne (Dianne) Holt of Ellijay; daughter, Edith Weaver of Ellijay; six grandchildren, Mandy (Adam) Banks, Kevin (Lindsey) Holt, Janna (Leeman) Teague, Joseph (Allison) Holt, Melissa (Luke) Mooney, and Adam (Amanda) DeBoard; 10 great-grandchildren; and special caregivers, Shawdee Pope, Shirley McDowell, Hazel Ray, and Janet Chambers also survive.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 8 ^th at 3:00 PM from Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Gerald Siniard officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church cemetery. Pallbearers serving will be Adam Banks, Kevin Holt, Adam DeBoard, Luke Mooney, Leeman Teague, and Joseph Holt.

The family will receive friends Saturday, May 7 ^th from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
