Mr. Richard "Rick" Lee Mayfield, age 62 of Ellijay, passed away on Tuesday, October 17th, 2023 at the Piedmont Regional Hospital in Athens.

Mr. Mayfield was born on December 9th, 1960 in Gilmer County to the late Leonard Eugene Mayfield and Monteal Honeycutt Mayfield. In addition to his parents, Mr. Mayfield is preceded in death by his sister, Mary Moss; brother, Leonard Mayfield, and brother-in-law, Jack Slep.

Survivors include his loving wife, Tammy Lynn Mayfield; three sons and daughters-in-law, Josh (Jessica) Mayfield, Corey (Martha) Mayfield, and Eric Mayfield; one daughter and son-in-law, Amanda (Joey) Lillard; sister, Karen Slep; sister-in-law, Linda Mayfield, and 13 grandchildren, Alice and Heidi, Lillard, Joshua, Isabella, Katie, Bryan, Cory, Colton, Blake, Brandon, Caleb, Samuel and Savannah Mayfield also survive.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 21st, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with the Rev. David Nicholson and Brother Greg Weatherby officiating. Interment will follow in the Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery. The gentlemen serving as pallbearers will include Josh Mayfield, Corey Mayfield, Eric Mayfield, Lenny Mayfield, Lyndon Mayfield, and Joey Lillard. Honorary Pallbearers will include Chad West and Lindsey Mayfield.

The family will receive friends on Friday, October 20th, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Food and Flowers may be accepted or in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery fund in care of Branson Chastain at 84 River Ridge-Ellijay, GA 30536 or Compassus Hospice in memory of Mr. Rick Mayfield.
