Mr. Richard (Rick) Lee Searcy was born May 20, 1965 and spent his first six years growing up in a small suburban neighborhood in Tucker Georgia and moved to Gilmer County when he was six.  He graduated from Gilmer High school in 1983 and put himself through college at University of West Georgia where he graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Business finance and marketing.   He went on to work in the fastener industry in 1987 while he was in college and continued to build his career until he started a boutique in Blue Ridge called Broken Bull. It was his ministry.

In September of 1987 he met the girl next door, Melisa, and ran inside and told his mom he'd met the girl he was going to marry. He made her his wife in 1990, and they were married 31 years.  Rick and Melisa had 4 Beautiful children and Rick was a devoted husband and father. His oldest son Tyler and his wife Memorie had given him his first and only granddaughter, Emma Lee. His daughter Angel was always the apple of his eye. He was preceded in death by his third child, his son Jacob. His fourth child, his son Lucas of the home was always his rock.  He was so proud of him and his future as an artist was an exciting hope and light in his daily life. He had made Jesus his savior when he was attending pleasant Grove Baptist church in the 80s and both he and Melisa were baptized and then married by Edmund Miller.  He will be sorely missed by everyone here waiting to join him in his new heavenly home. He always said we're just passing through none of us make it out alive without Jesus.

His earthly body will be cremated and a celebration of life memorial will be held for all his friends and family to remember him and celebrate his life at Harvest Missionary church on Sunday February 13th, at 3 PM with Rev. Glen Arnold and Rev. Keith Grizzle officiating. There will be food and music to enjoy after the memorial ceremony and everyone is invited to stay and visit and reminisce with Rick's family and friends who would love to hear stories and share memories.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Isaiah House.
