Mr. Robert Fredrick Rudy, age 88 of Canton, passed away on Sunday, December 31st, 2023 at his residence.

Mr. Rudy was born on July 4th, 1935, in Royal Oak, MI, to the late Mark Duane Rudy and Pearl Putnam Rudy. In his younger days, he loved to go hunting with his brother. Mr. Rudy worked as a highway construction foreman and a stationary engineer. He also served as the Chief of Police in Onaway, MI. Mr. Rudy also enjoyed creating leather works, and he loved his family. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean Rudy.

Survivors include his four sons, Rob (Cathy) Rudy, Tracy (Misty) Rudy, Steve Rudy, and Frank Rudy; two daughters, Beverly (Cliff) Shoemaker and Karen Barnes; 17 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 9th at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Rev. Ryan Smith officiating. After the service, Mr. Rudy will be cremated and inurnment will follow in Yukon Cemetery at a later date.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 9th from 10:00 AM until the service hour at the funeral home.
