Mr. Roger Nelson Owen, age 78, passed this life on Friday, December 30 ^th , 2022 at his residence.

Roger was born on March 28 ^th , 1944 in Toccoa, Georgia to the late L.T. Owen and Ruby Owen. He worked for the Atlanta Police Department for 28 years and was a police lieutenant for 10 years. Mr. Owen was a graduate of Lavonia High School, class of 1962, and enjoyed motorcycle riding, golf, poker, and traveling. Roger was a member of the Oakman Baptist Church of Oakman and also a member of the Fraternal Order of Police.

Mr. Owen is preceded in death by his wife, Bobbi Jean Reaid Owen.

Roger is survived by his sister-in-law, Willie May Owen of Toccoa, GA; special friend and caregiver, Cheryle Schoeneman, and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Memorial Services will be held on Wednesday, January 11 ^th , 2023 at 1:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until the service hour of 1:00 p.m.
