Ms. Rose Teresa McHan, age 69 of Ellijay, passed away on Sunday, October 30th, 2022 at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta.

Ms. McHan was born on December 2nd, 1952 in Gilmer County to the late Major Dupree and Lela Hicks Dupree. She was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Posey.

Survivors include her daughter, Greta Posey of Ellijay; brother, David Dupree of Dalton; sister, Hilda Shoemaker of Chatsworth; grandchild, Jerry Lowe; and two great grandchildren, Chloe Lowe and Jessie Lowe also survive.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 2nd at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Rev. Johnny Grizzle officiating. Interment will follow in the Mountaintown Baptist Church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, November 2nd from 11:00 AM until the service hour.

Flowers will be accepted in memory of Ms. Rose McHan, but the family respectfully asks that no food be brought to the funeral home.
