Mrs. Ruby Mae Deyton, age 72 of Ellijay, passed away on Sunday, August 6th, 2023 at her residence.

Mrs. Deyton was born on September 8th, 1950 in Gilmer County to the late Claude Ridings and the late Ruth Cochran Ridings. She was a member of the Zion Hill Baptist Church. Mrs. Deyton was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. She also loved to camp and fish. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Deyton is preceded in death by her brother, John Henry, and three grandchildren, Caleb Deyton, Thomas Deyton, and Josiah Deyton.

Survivors include her three sons and daughters-in-law, Lamar and Amanda Craig of Ellijay, Stacy and Karen Deyton of Talking Rock, and Jason and Sheila Deyton of Ellijay; two daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and T.C. Cochran of Dalton, and Tonya Deyton of Ellijay; one brother, Earl Ridings of Ellijay; five sisters, Betty Dale of Ellijay, Brenda Weaver of Chatsworth, Linda Hawkins of Talking Rock, Mildred Pendergrass of Ellijay, and Claudette Painter of Ellijay; 18 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren also survive.

A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, August 9th, 2023 at 4:00 p.m. at the Yukon Cemetery with Rev. Larry Stover officiating. The funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 3:30 p.m. The Gentlemen serving as pallbearers will include Coty Craig, Luke Davenport, Tyler Deyton, Leeland Dantin, Donald Hawkins, and Josh Addams.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 8th, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family respectfully asks that no food be brought to the funeral home; however, flowers will be accepted in memory of Mrs. Ruby Mae Deyton.
